Parish of St. Joseph Marking 100 Years
This year, the Parish of St. Joseph is celebrating its 100th anniversary.
“To know that we’ve come 100 years in serving Catholic families is quite remarkable and truly something we are grateful for,” said Fr. Richard Kozak, pastor. “We have been blessed to share the sacraments, our faith and our love with thousands of people over this past century. We are excited to be here at this momentous time in our parish history. Many of our families have ancestors who were either among the original families to found St. Joseph’s or remember the growth of the parish and the construction of our current church and school.”

Francis Cardinal George will join parishioners at the parish’s 100th anniversary mass and celebration on June 3, 2012. The cardinal will be the principal celebrant with invited priests and bishops concelebrating.
The Parish of St. Joseph is under the direction of Father Kozak who is assisted by Rev. Dan Jarosewic, and three ordained deacons.
A parish Centennial Committee has planned a variety of events to help mark this centennial year at St. Joseph’s. The celebrations began with an open house Jan. 29 at the school as part of Catholic Schools Week, and continued with a St. Joseph’s Parish Centennial Luncheon on March 18 at Balagio's Restaurant.
The Parish Festival will follow the June 3 mass. The 2 to 8 p.m. event with food, music and a host of activities will be on the parish grounds.
St. Joseph’s outstanding choirs will present a concert at the church on Sept. 23.
A dinner-dance is set for Oct. 6 at Olympia Fields Country Club.
The parish celebration will culminate with an ecumenical Thanksgiving service on Nov. 21.
These events are open to all.
