A message from Father Richard J Kozak, Pastor:
Dear Sisters and Brothers of our Parish Family,
As you know, in 2012, the Parish of Saint Joseph will celebrate our 100th anniversary. These years have been a splendid record of faith, service, and family! To continue our parish's wonderful ministry, and also to make our centennial celebration as unforgettable as it should be, I am asking you to participate in our Centennial Campaign, A New Parish For a New Century.
The next page highlights what we have achieved during recent years, and we've done it without going into debt! We should be quite proud of these accomplishments! You can also see the goals we have yet to tackle in the future.
Our parish school, under the committed leadership of Principal Tom Kozak and a fine faculty, continues to provide students with an excellent education forming strong Catholic leaders for tomorrow. We need to keep it strong and growing, especially through improved technology and a state of the art science lab.
You have already seen some of the marvelous renovation that has taken place in our Church. New pews and additional flooring, a new sound system, and enhanced music ministry will make it a model house of prayer and joyful worship.
The Father Burke Center must be remodeled and reconfigured to provide modern and functional kitchen and meeting facilities. The building must also be made handicapped-accessible.
And finally that "rainy day fund". We spent down our savings considerably when rainy days came along. Now it's time to replenish our resources so that we'll be able to meet the challenges of any rainy days the future may hold.
Our Centennial Campaign, A New Parish For a New Century, will enable Saint Joseph's to continue our ministry into the next century and beyond. I encourage you to join me in making a truly sacrificial commitment to this campaign. Remember that 100% of the funds collected in the campaign will stay right here at Saint Joseph's. Nothing will be sent to the Archdiocese of Chicago.
Our parish mission statement, as well as our achievements over the past 100 years, have been To Foster Christ's Love In Our Hearts. May the success of our campaign enable our parish to continue this ministry and to provide a lasting legacy for generations to come.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Father Richard J Kozak.
